Week 2 Reflection

Week 2

For this first class of week 2, we do class activity about topic 1. We choose 1 system/app that result positive UX and 1 system/app that result negative UX with reasons. We also give our opinion about what is a good UX and bad UX. Then, we give suggestions on how to improvise the UX through UI components. Lastly we search the job title for UI/UX related in LinkedIn. My conclusion from this class is good UI will results a good UX, efficient and convenient system will make the users happy and satisfied and so is the other way around. As we take this course, we also need to know how this course will benefit us in our future career.

For the second class of week 2, we learned about Topic 2- Cognitive Engineering. This topics show us why it is important to understand user. We need to design a good interface so that the user are able to process the information efficient and fast. We were also teached how the design are able to grab user attention. For example, the bordering and spacing is effective for grouping information and the text should be easy to read by choosing correct text and background colour. The file management systems should have design that able to optimize our memory processes, for example search box and history list. At the end of the class, we do an activity by writing what we learned from this topic on the sticky notes.

My reflection: Learning about design implication is very important as it affecting the user experience. A good interface will make the user able to process information fast and grab their attention. They also can focus more on important points. The system must also able to help the users finding things as our memory are not capable to remember a lots of thing in one time.
